Greetings from Italy

A forum for new members to introduce themselves to the rabble already onboard. Not compulsory!
Tell us a little about yourself, lie if you have to but keep it to just an introduction, not a car discussion.

Greetings from Italy

Unread post by eliflap »

Good evening (evening at Rome timezone),

I am new to this forum so let me introduce myself.

eliflap is my nick name in every forum and in the web as I work on helicopters since 30 years

i had 2 C4 Picasso 5 seats MKI in 1600cc 110hp (one 330.000km and the second 220.000km) and since january 2020 I am having a 2014 C4 Gran Picasso MKII 2000cc 150 hp 7 seats and i actually have 348.000km on the clock (over 216000 miles, for UK users)

I am from Florence, Italy, and i live in its countryside with a 2km long gravel road as home access from the tarmac so my car is always dirty of dust or mud, ALWAYS :(
I can wash her only when I am going out 2-3 days from home :-D

however, I discovered this forum on Facebook in a discussion on an UK based C4 picasso group.

i done some "tuning" to my car to have a better inside the frame life, all DIY by myself (so DIM :-D ):

- noise reduction from outside with soud deading panel on 4 doors
- noise reduction with additional seals on the 4 doors
- installed the carplay/android auto module from Aliexpress
- installed an hydraulic bonnet strut to open and close the bonnet easly
- installed a washing hose for the rear camera, to clean it up from dust (very helpful for me)
- installed an additional led strip light in the trunk
- installed ambient light on the 4 door trims and on the central console
- installed ambient lights with 2 led strips on the sides of panoramic roof
- installed a new touch screen with car play/android auto in the driver side headrest for the rear left passenger (planned to do the same on other side)
- deleted the start and stop system permanently
- fine tune the fuel gauge after fuel pump change (wrong indication with a new original pump)
- changed the engine start button with a new one for deleted letters on the older one
- installed a push to close button on the driver side to close the electric boot when already seated
- removed sound of no fastened seat belts
- always on the rear lights with front DRL on (very useful in short tunnels in the daylight)
- try to lower to zero noise from every plastic part with sound deadening tape
- maybe other functions I do not remember now ......

however planned to do other things in the next months

I do the maintenance steps by myself on the car:
from oil and all the filters change to cleaning of the EGR valve, changing EGR heat exchanger, changing front and rear discs and pads, changing shock absorbers, changing service belt, changing fuel tank pump, changed side mirrors and so on, do not remeber all the works done in this 4 years I own the car.
planned actions: i have to change the heater matrix in september, now it's too warm here in Italy

so, let's rock and roll, start the music :welc: :cd:
