C5 DPF warning - how to check state of DPF using Diagbox?

Unread post by steveclv »

Got the warning after booting it out of a junction to avoid traffic. C5 X7
I'll put it on the diagbox in the morning but can anyone remember where/how to check the state of the DPF in Diagbox?
I have 1500 miles to do in 2 weeks and have a 1L tin of Facom engine cleaner to run through it to see if that helps, otherwise I guess I'll be taking it for a machine clean!
Thanks

Engine ECU - std parameter measurements - exhaust info (I think). Looking for it to be <10 at idle and <40 at 3k rpm.

OK, so it wasn't the DPF - the error (I stupidly erased it before noting it) was something to do with the turbocharger pressure not matching something - obviously it happened when I booted it hard from a standstill - have to check to see if it happens again after our road trip.

Anyway, the DPF numbers all looked OK
Particle filter load state NOT CHARGED
Particle Filter load 5%
Total weight of soot 1.15G
Pressure difference I/O 5 mbar
Avereage distance between regenerations 322km
Degree of clogging with soot 66%
Distance remaining before replacement of DPF 51515 km
Distance travelled since the DPF was replaced 65535 km

What's interesting is that it looks like the ECU thinks that the DPF needs replacing every 120,000km or so.

Might be the turbo vanes sticking a bit, monitor and see if it comes back.

Yes, there is a pre programmed DPF life, but as long as the pressures are OK and regens not too frequent you can just tell it it's been replaced and the counter will reset.

Ahh, I suspect that might have been done previously as the car has 255,000km and it reckons it was changed 65k ago but there is no invoice for it and I have a full set of service history invoices.
I do tend to drive the car like an old man (darn, I AM an old man lol well 63) so I doubt that the turbo vanes get much exercise - maybe I need to give it a bit more beans from time to time :)
