Hello, because of an error, I had to buy new gauges for our Peugeot 206 (MUX). The "new" gauges have all the needles (fuel, temperature, RPM and speed) set in bad positions so they show bad info. Is there an easy way to reset them to default positions? I no longer have old gauges (they were swapped for repair for the new ones) to get positions from.
I know on some gauges there are white dots hidden under plastic, but not on this one. When I removed the plastic, the dots indicating neutral positions weren't there.
In diagnostic tool there is a "reset" button but the needles just shake a little bit and don't move.

Re: 206 MUX Resetting cluster needles to default position
On our 2007 C5 the speed needle became loose and I was able to stick it back on the shaft with the ignition switched on (engine not running) so it was in the 0 mph position. If you could do this it could also be done with the rpm needle if needed but temperature and fuel would be difficult.

Re: 206 MUX Resetting cluster needles to default position
Unfortunately, that was not the case for our Peugeot. I had to do everything manually with a diagnostic reader.
For example:
Read the coolant temperature from the diagnostic tool and set the needle manually.
Read the engine RPM from the diagnostic tool and set the needle manually.
The speedometer is the only one gauge that worked with your tip, and I am really grateful for that because it would be pain in the ass to set it according to diagnostic tool.
The fuel gauge does not like being tampered with. When I touch the needle, it shuts to 0. But it switches to (probably) right level. We will see after refilling the car.
