Hi everybody,
I’ve red the topic regarding the internal sd card change using Mirascript, and I understood that this process is useful in order to save your specific car configuration.
My question is: if I simply put a new microsd card can I configure the radio using Diagbox as a new unit for example?

Re: Rt6 sd card and config question
Hi, no you can't. The firmware is required to partition the MicoSD card and install the Automotive operating system and other files. Because of this, the firmware (especially 2.86 which is a major firmware update) can, on some systems (depending on the version of the previous firmware) leave the unit in a factory default state with no options configured and is locked out in secure mode within Diagox. If this happens it requires dealer intervention to unlock and configure from their servers with your factory options and language etc.
So when installing a new MicroSD card, the Mirascripts can be used to restore some functionality, but it really depends on what version you had installed on the unit to start with.
So it's a risk. But there's no harm in backing up your user config files regardless, because you will want to do this in case of a failure later on when it becomes impossible to do this.
