Hi all
My daughter bought a used DS3 in 2022 after passing her test. She had it serviced after a few months and all was fine. In summer she went to Halfords for them to top up the aircon and they pointed out something looked snapped off, the Halfords guy looked and said it seemed as if it had been superglued back on recently but had fallen off again. As the car worked my daughter forgot about it.
She returned from Uni recently and the car is now showing a vague error on start and start/stop doesn’t work. I had a look and noticed the snapped bit straight away but can’t identify the part or what it’s for on any diagram.
I do have a basic Bluetooth diagnostic tool and managed to capture all the errors and wondered if they have anything to do with the damaged part.
So hopefully you clever lot may be able to help

Re: DS3 - help identifying part/issue
The part above aside for the moment, codes P1446, P1446 21, P15B3, P15B3 00 are featured on a technical update that requires the following service actions:
Downloading of the engine management ECU software.
Downloading of the automatic gearbox ECU software (if applicable).
Filling of the particle filter additive reservoir.
I'll need the VIN to narrow down engines for the part. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.
However P20E8 needs a DS diagnostic, as this is the DeNOx system and depending on the guided diagnostics mat require replacement of one or more parts of it, which may include the Adblue tank.

Re: DS3 - help identifying part/issue
It's the air filter lid, and the pipe being broken off is very common as it's tricky to remove. New box is £££ as I remember. However, that's only the vent from the turbo solenoid, so I doubt it does any harm not being connected - although the hole in the air box lid will allow in a small amount of unfiltered air to the MAF.

Re: DS3 - help identifying part/issue
So it's the housing for the air filter and if you're concerned about it, the part's about £200 to replace, but I'd deal with the other faults first,
The P20E8 is your emissions system and that will need a guided diagnostic, the results of which will be determined by the diagnostic recommendation as to what needs replacing. So your best bet it to get DS run a diagnostic on it and see what it suggests.

The air filter housing will have to wait then, at least until I get Citroen to run a diagnostic on the other faults.

Re: DS3 - help identifying part/issue
The stop/start is probably not working if the battery is not fully charged. I would not worry about it though since by not working it is saving the starter from wearing out and it will save you having to use the switch to turn off the stop/start every time the car is used.
