How often do I have to change my glow plugs? How many glow plugs does my car have?

Re: Glow Plug change
4 cylinder engine - 4 glow plugs.
As for changing them - most don't bother as unless you live in the arctic circle they're rarely used for HDi starting in temperate countries, but they can be used for post heating to assist with regeneration - but only in conditions where the engine ECU needs to get the engine temperature up more quickly.
I've never yet changed one in any of my HDIs. If a glow plug or the glow plug relay is faulty, it will usually generate the common P1351 fault code. But even with this error it can really be ignored - given the added potential problems of trying to free stuck glowplugs!

Re: Glow Plug change
Thank you for the information! Then I won't change anything as long as it doesn't report any errors. I learn through you
