C4 grand picasso energy economy mode

Unread post by Northman1968 »

Just bought a Citroen C4 grand picasso and I have noticed that when you turn the engine off, I then try and listen to the radio or even activate the windows, it then goes into ," ENERGY ECONOMY MODE ACTIVATED," and then shuts down, this is extremely annoying,is there anyway I can turn this off as I have looked but it doesn't seem to give any options, any help much appreciated thanks

Welcome along.

Unfortunately you can't disable this, it's a failsafe to protect the battery. However if it comes on soon after shut down, even after a decent run, it probably indicates the battery is past its best.

It is a safety measurement for draining the battery. You can turn it off only via Lexia diagnostic tool. I don't recommend it.
For me, the economy mode usually pops up after about 15-20 minutes of using the battery only. If it starts sooner, it might be because of a weak battery. If so, check battery health and charging capacity of the alternator.
