Does anyone know if the seats from a Series I will physically fit a Series II (X7)?
ie will the bolt holes line up?
My wife prefers the passenger seat from a Series I but I don't know if I can fit it.
Series 1 seats into an X7?

LOL - it's the side bolster that causes her problems getting and out with short legs. I've been training her for 32 years so it would be a shame to have to let her go so really need to find a solution. Series 1 seats are much flatter so maybe I'll have to start measuring the bolt holes.

You'll have other issues like side Airbags that won't be compatible to consider..... plus insurance may be affected as you would potentially be fitting incorrect seats, which are not designed for the car, and not tested for the X7, so it would not meet safety certification.

Ahh, yes that would be a problem here in France - they are very pernickity about safety - they will even fail a CT (MOT) if you have different size tyres from what the tech plate states.

Yes, I think you'll be better with an aftermarket back support or similar.

Re: Series 1 seats into an X7?
It's not her back - it's the base side bolster. As she gets into and out of the car, due to the distance between the seat base and getting out onto the ground and her short legs, the base side bolster goes right up into her 'you know what' and is very uncomfortable for her. I have tried raising and lowering the seat but it hasn't helped.
I might resort to getting another secondhand passengers seat and seeing if I can remove the padding/foam from that piece.

You can buy the seat base alone Steve, but there's probably a lot of disassembly involved.
Of course there are multiple variants depending on the trim and whether you have heated or electric memory seats etc.
