Hello all,
Apologies for the long post -
End of Feb, I bought myself my first frenchie - Pug Partner 2.0 HDI, 54 plate.
I was made aware there was an ‘intermittent fault’ in that occasionally it wouldn’t start and I’d have to unplug an injector and it would start. The other intermittent fault’ was the wipers would come on whilst driving randomly.
I unplugged the aftermarket radio and to date had no issues with it not starting.
The wipers indeed came on randomly, along with the washer motor (hence the washer reservoir being dismantled)
Turns out - there are a few more ‘intermittent faults’
When side lights on - no indicators work.
Recently, wipers have been on permanently, indicators stop working part way through a drive, sometimes resolved by turning the engine off for a few minutes.
For the past week - it won’t start. Jumping, bumping, disconnecting the battery, 4th injector, pumping the primer valve, spraying the earths, finally it starts.
This morning, indicators stop working, pull over on the A30 to ‘reset it’ won’t start.
20 minutes notes of trying the ‘usual’ tricks, turn the ignition - washer motor kicks in, car starts.
If it were just the wipers - I’d say comm unit, it’s been plugged in and no faults found (glows need attention, but surely that’s a winter worry).
Trying to find the fault in the least amount of steps possible.
My next thought is engine bay fuse box?
BSI? But that would show a fault
ECU? That would show a fault too?
I’m literally pulling h my hair out!
Any ideas hive mind?
