This unit is the RT4 and RT5 system and is made by Magneti Marelli
Main differences between RT4 & RT5 - RT5 has Bluetooth Hands Free, faster Navigation calculation and on C4 & C4 Picasso only, USB ports and a High-Res screen.

Unread post by Kcin657 »

Hi there, I have a question. If I have NaviDrive RT4/5 how can I add Bluetooth to it? Can I but an Adaptor ( https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006 ... ry_from%3A ) like this one

RT4 does not have Bluetooth.
RT5 does have Bluetooth inbuilt.

You have one or the other - which is it?

So RT4 does not have Bluetooth, so you will need an adapter. However you will need to make sure it is compatible with an RT4 as the adapter says it is for an RD4, not an RT4.

These are wired differently, so you will need to ask the sellers about compatibility with RT4 units.

Either that or if it's just music, get an FM adapter that plugs into the 12V socket and sends the signal over a spare FM radio frequency to the RT4. No wiring needed for that.

Or something like this as an example that seems to do what you want:

I'm not recommending any of these, but just using these as an example.

thanks I will consider also this one, I wanted something that it will not take space in front and to be hidden but I think this one I can also hide somehow.

But thanks for the alternative.
Also do you know if I change my display with a multimedia aftermarket will I lose some of the car functions? Because I have read somewhere that I might lose the retractable seats and also some of the features so I am a little bit sceptic about it

You will loose all functions of the RT4 telematic unit. So anything that is changed or controlled by the RT4 you will not retain.

Obviously time and date are not critical as an Android unit will no doubt have these but you need to check for functions that are directly changed using the RT4 and for parking assistance as you will loose that functionality unless the manufacturer of the particular Android system tells you otherwise. Functions such as triggering rear wipe in reverse gear, possible trip computer etc. but as I don't know the exact model you have I can't advise. If you provide your VIN I can see exactly what you have. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Ok, so you may lose your Equaliser Amplifier, Parking Assistance, Voice Commands and of Course Factory Sat Nav, and MFD Display, as well as steering wheel controls, Emergency Services Auto Geolocation in an accident and Emergency Service SOS calling and Breakdown features.
