OEM or aftermarket parts advice (thermostat housing)

Unread post by max1 »

I know this subject is a bit of a minefield but I need a new thermostat housing for my 207 & wondered if I could get some advice where to get it. Some decent sellers on ebay etc have for around £40, other's on ebay around £60 but say are as good as OEM hence slightly higher price. GFS car parts around £90 but is this OEM? - it doesn't say anywhere that it is but price looks like it is?

Best place to get one, or places to avoid I suppose is the question.

Thanks all

OEM versions are just over £200. These things are grey areas - my advice is to get the best you can afford. Really cheap ones probably won't last, so it becomes more expensive long-term. If the existing one is the original, it's lasted 15 years...... so factor that in.

I was looking to replace the cabin filter on my Hyundai Tuscon, the price on GSF is £15.72 and that was with the 15% discount they are offering at the moment. Got one on the bay for £6.92 with free postage for a plain one and £8.16 for one with charcoal. The 6 pound one was exacty the same as the one I took out.
