308SW - EDC16C3 doom loop .... P0490 now

Unread post by ianmcc »

Hi there,

I have been on this one for a while and despite new EGR, electrovalve, DPF, MAP sensor and MAF clean I can't find the exit - can you help ? Is there one ??

All the classic systems are there - starting and idling OK, but running it is short of power and stutters just above 2k rpm. Applying some kick down brings the power back, but eventually brings on the EML and puts the car into limp mode - little power and not reaching 3k rpm. 145k miles and mostly motorway mileage.

My questions are about the 'EGR throttle position copy' line (Faults 25-7-24) in DiagBox 7.57 :

- what is it ?
- where is it on the system ?
- are the readings that I have (1% at stop, idle, and revving (Faults 25-7-24 1) and much higher temporarily when you come off the throttle (no load) (Faults 25-7-24 2) normal ?

Thanks, Ian

... looking over the Bosch diagram :

I convinced myself it is the EGR Throttle which is throwing off the various faults. The local factors listed this as Dealer only, but there are plenty on eBay - Delphi 9660030480 25365285 25365221 25365220 - for the DV6TED4. I am out of 'limp' mode for now and can see a reading on both EGR Throttle Electrovalve lines in the DiagBox :

This Doseur is not easy to get apart. It only has 5 wires connected on a 6 pin plug and looks like this with the cap off :
