NAC RCC

Unread post by johnson »

Which is the best RCC/NAC version for the best (more stable) android auto experience?
Also, besides navi, is there anything else that NAC does and RCC can't?
Thanks in advance.

That's not really a black & White issue.

Technologies are improving all the time and later systems will include more integration of the vehicle's systems with tech like Apple CarPlay.

It's not about the best version of these - the versions are updated to account for new technologies in the vehicle, in order to operate these. Both systems, NAC and RCC support both CarPlay and AA.

Thanks for the answer, in my case i have RCC A1 which unfortunately doesn't support AA.
I will need to upgrade it (unofficially because officially i've been told that it's not possible) and will need to select a used RCC/NAC devices (and find someone to do the coding) to replace my RCC A1.
Let's suppose they all cost the same, which one would you prefer buying?

It depends on your build date and country as to what version you have, as Connected NAV was only available on the last production runs here around 2017/2018. Earlier models I believe had the SMEG or RT6.

You won't just be able to fit a new unit unfortunately, as it requires coding to the vehicle along with all the correct equipment settings and this is something that a dealer likely will not do as it was not standard equipment for your vehicle when new. When they configure these, they do it in internet connected mode from their servers and it will only show the configuration for the original equipment fitted. You may be able to get one from a seller who can code these with a hacking tool, but that's not something we can assist with here.

Obviously for the NAC, you won't be able to use real time traffic or connected services as you won't have an account for this vehicle's VIN. You'll also have to purchase GPS aerial and new touchscreen i addition and have it all configured...

Car is a Greek Cactus feel version 2020 model which is normal to not have Navi but i really can't understand why it doesn't have AA... i think it should normally support it.
In terms of the existing Nac Wave modules, is the last version always better? For example is Wave 3 better than Wave 2 etc.

It's a matter of compatibility, not the latest version.
