C4 Error code p0494

Hi There,

First post!

My wife's C4's fan sometimes runs flat out constantly. Has the error P0494. Looks like I need to change the slow speed fan resistor unit. I've bought one (hopefully the right part)

My question is do I need to take the front of the car off to reach it? Other variants like the cactus look like it is on the back, engine side, of the radiator and easy to reach but the C4's looks like it is on the front of the radiator, behind the grill and unreachable without taking the car to pieces.

Just make sure you disconnect the battery first following the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure as if there is an issue with the resistor unit / relays or other element of the cooling system, the fan make kick in without the engine running and adios fingers!

Access for the fan removal requires the under engine protection panel removing and the air deflector under the bumper, so you'll have to see if the modules are accessible at any stage.
