Citroen C4 Compressor & Diagnostics
There is a sticker on the compressor on the car with the Citroen symbol and the number 9676862380. It also has another number in much smaller print 4471503251. Do these tie in with any info you might have please. Thanks once more.

No. The numbers I have provided are the latest official part numbers. The original part numbers have been superseded, but the numbers you have quoted are not listed on official parts - it may be an older number no longer used for the original part.

Thanks Marc. Just out of curiosity I put that number into Google and it came up with suits 1.6HDI diesel engine! So maybe there has been a dodgy replacement sometime in the past, although the unit looks like it has been there forever.GiveMeABreak wrote: 13 Jul 2024, 14:50 No. The numbers I have provided are the latest official part numbers. Personally, I would use the numbers I supplied because they often replace equipment or upgrade it , especially if there have been issues with the original equipment.

Re: Citroen C4 Compressor & Diagnostics
Don't worry, I would definitely go with your advice on this. Since I am about to take the car back to my local garage on Monday to tell them to bleed the brakes properly ( pedal is softer now than when it went in for new rear discs, pads and brake fluid change), can you tell me if they, as a non franchised garage, would be likely to be able to access the diagnostics to do this, as you had advised. They did claim that this had to be done on Ford Transit, which diagnostics they used, but a power bleed would be ok on the Citroen! Also we have a Cawdor garage in town- Vauxhall agent amongst others- and as a PSA group dealer, would they be likely to have the necessary diagnostics access? I am asking so as to get some ammunition ready to do battle on Monday! Thanks once again.GiveMeABreak wrote: 13 Jul 2024, 19:48 Personally, I would use the numbers I supplied because they often replace equipment or upgrade it , especially if there have been issues with the original equipment.

Re: Citroen C4 Compressor & Diagnostics
Hi Dai
The issue is that Cawdor were / are a Vauxhall dealer until Stellantis took them over - they are standardising diagnostics , but I can't advise how familiar they at present with Diagbox (if at all).
Be warned that bleeding the braking system on vehicles with ESP is a 2 operation process. There's the standard brake bleeding routine at each of the wheels, but with ESP systems the hydraulic block must be bled with the diagnostic equipment (like Diagbox). So I can't really comment on their diagnostic equipment or ability - but this is a pretty standard thing on vehicles with ESP and as a franchised dealer they will know this - it's just whether they have the right diagnostics.

Re: Citroen C4 Compressor & Diagnostics
I'm sure it won't be an issue as if they service non Vauxhall vehicles they must have other diagnostic kit available.
