2009 C5 x7 handbrake cable replacement (station wagon, 1.6 HDI, manual handbrake)'

Dear all,


The left side handbrake cable is stuck on my 2009 C5 X7 station wagon 1,6 HDI, manual park brake (not electric)

I have purchased new cables but not lifted the car and looked underneath yet..

A couple of questions:

1) How much dismantling is needed of the inside center console? Any hints and tricks?

2) Do I need to remove any heatshield or part of the exhaust system under the car?

3) Other issues I need to be aware of before starting?
