C4 grand Picasso 2015 headlight adjustment

Unread post by Timmycitroen »

Just failed mot for headlight aim too low on both sides
Guy at garage says he can’t get them up high enough.

I have tried to move hex screw on back to raise but does not seem to do anything ,
Electronic adjustment works but not enough?

Any tips on how to fix this get them high enough?
How high should low beam be off ground to pass UkMot test. ..
Has anyone else had this problem or any idea what to try next?

Thanks for any pointers !

A few years ago one of my daughter's cars failed the MOT for exactly that. It turned out to be the adjusters had become disconnected internally on the ball end to reflector assembly. I had to take the lamp assemblies off the car in order to be able to push the adjuster ball into the reflector.

What bulbs are fitted, and are they in correctly?

I was thinking where did they come from? Cheap (and that includes the orange high street chain!) can give all sorts of issues with beam pattern; and both lights being too low seems odd if the leveller is working.

The cogs are stripped on both lights making adjust impossible
Don,t suppose anyone knows a part number or where to source a replacement?

There are no spares showing, just the complete headlamp unit. Breakers would be the best bet, as they are around £400 each from Citroen!

Worked it out
You can put a torx 45 in the rear of the fitting and not use the 6 mm Allen on the top
Rather than buy a new headlight
