Hello,
After 7 years and a new com2000 unit I've finally figured out why my Pic has the ESP/ASR Disabled fault.
Turns out there is no power going to the 6 pin connector for the steering wheel angle sensor on the com2000 unit.
I have ground, single wires are fine, just no 12v from the ignition.
Finding this thread:
viewtopic.php?t=66687&start=15
Is what helped with the pinout.
Temporally patched a wire from a fused piggy back on the fuse box to pin 4 and bingo bango it's working.
Even managed to get it calibrated.
Question is does anyone have a diagram of where that 12v +APC comes from. There's clearly a break in the wire but nowhere I can see before it reaches the rest of the loom around the fuse box.
And I'd rather not start trying to remove the dash fuse box without some kind of direction.
If anyone has advice or a diagram it would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

power should come from fuse 6 in the BSI, it exits BSI via pin 9 of the 16 way green connector & straight to the steering angle sensor from there.

That is awesome, thank you!
Going to have a look and hopefully find the break.
Cheers

I take it you have checked the fuses?

Re: Xsara Picasso No Power to Steering Wheel Angle Sensor
I did but not closely enough as is seems. I've just had a further look.
The car has an aftermarket radio and the dab antenna is powered off that fuse via a piggyback.
I had assumed that because the antenna was working that fuse was good.
Well low and behold they hadn't fused both terminals on the piggyback and I hadn't ever actually removed it to inspect.
Plus my Haynes manual had that fuse listed as 'Diagnostic Port', which also works, so I always ignored it.
Awe well at least it was a simple fix, and a learning experience. Never really felt comfortable messing with the wiring. Having the help/info gave me the courage.
Thanks again.

Thanks for that, yeah I should've really started a new topic rather than post on an existing one, nice to see it was only a couple weeks old tho, usually they're 5-10 years lol.
Thanks also for the schematic, although tbh I really wouldn't know where to begin with it!
I just need to know how to test the other wires to the SWAS but my troubles began when I opened up the com unit so looks like I'll need another one now even though I fixed the airbag ribbon wire break, my reward was to cause another issue with ESP to replace it!
