Citroen C5 X7 HIFI audio only two front speakers working

Hello! I have a 2008 Citroen C5 Exclusive LHD with the HIFI Phillips package and since I purchased the car back in December, I noticed that the only speakers that are working are the two front door ones. The dashboard tweeters, the rear tweeters and speakers and the subwoofer do not work. I got the speakers tested and they do actually work when plugged into an external source. The car came with the original RT4 radio paired with the HIFI system. I decided to replace the Siemens screen with an aftermarket all in one unit, since the RT4 did not come with Bluetooth originally. Now, with the new system, the front speakers are much clearer and stronger sounding, but they are still the only ones working. I also inspected the subwoofer and is in perfect shape. I have been turned down by a handful of mechanics and electricians and I really do need some help. I love my car, but this weird issue is taking me so much energy....

That will be the reason. Either your android replacement is not compatible or has the incorrect outputs. The RT4 Head unit is more than a radio - it is a telematics system that also links into the vehicle's other systems, including the screen. It is linked directly to the amplifier and configured as such. You should also be aware that the emergency call and geo-location on airbag deployment will also be disabled too as a result, as this is also linked tot he airbag ECU and front speaker.

You will have to expect to lose functionality with aftermarket systems not designed for the vehicle.

I would of advised just getting a separate bluetooth module that works off the 12V accessory socket and transmits to the RT4 via FM or similar if this was the only issue.

Hello! Thank you for the reply.
The issue was also before I made the switch to the android headunit. Even with the original radio and siemens screen plugged in and working, the speakers I mentioned did not work. So I assume it must be something else. I can try to put them back, but for 4 month straight the rear speakers, tweeters and subwoofer did not work even if it had the original radio and screen plugged in.

Ok, so all is as I would expect. So I can only suggest that as the RT4 is designed and integrated wo work with the original HiFi amp, replacing the head with an Android has probably different connections that are not compatible / or are bypassing the amp - especially if you have used a different quad lock wiring connector for the android unit.

Also with the problem you described, this rt4 with this amplifier must be correct configured by the diagbox.

It did not work properly even before the android unit. There is not way that putting back the RT4 would solve the issue. It did not work before I installed the android and it wont work now. Cant there be any other source of problem? Maybe the connections to the amp?

And I repeat: The speakers did not work even with the original RT4.

Here you see the connections from the RT4 and amplifier.
If this is not programmed correctly by the diagbox, then you will not hear the sound from all of the speakers.

There is only one choice on this vehicle with the Amplifier - fitted or not fitted. With a factory-fitted amplifier, I would not expect any reason to change anything in the BSI, since the amp has not been removed. However, this doesn't mean somebody has been into the BSI configuration and changed some settings to deactivate the amplifier, in which case this would also cause a problem.

But also be aware that the amplifier has CAN connections to the BSI, the Display Screen and the RT4 so an aftermarket android unit may still not work if it is not compatible.
