Citroen Saxo without left and right lights

Unread post by josearaujo »

Very good evening, everyone.
I hereby ask for your help.
I noticed today that my 2001 Citroen Saxo doesn't open turn signals/light, left or right.
And I hear a very low buzzing sound.
If I turn it on in an emergency, the 4 blinkers come on and go off normally.
They just don't light up if I pull the direction shift lever to the left or right.
The fuses are good! I don't know what it will be.
Can you help me please?

I don't know the circuitry for the Saxo but it sounds to me like the indicator relay isn't operating, it's trying and hence causing the buzzing but not operating. That is usually due to low voltage across the relay coil which in turn is usually dirty connection in the circuit, possibly the relay socket! You should be able to trace the relay by operating the switch and then listening around the car's relays to identify which one is struggling!! The hazard flashers have their own relay so are not affected but at least it confirms the wiring to the actual lights is fine. Good luck! :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Its a fairly simple circuit the relay is located as shown below. Its a 3 pin relay plugged into a grey base (component number 2305).

Thank you very much wheeler for the diagram
And thank you very much mickthemaverick for the explanation.
As the 4 lights come on in emergency mode, I assumed it wasn't the relay.
I assume that the integrated circuit inside the relay has failed.
It still occurred to me that there were 2 relays. One for home function.
So I'm going to buy a new one.
Thank you for your help, José Araújo
