406 coupe engine change

Hi,
Im trying to put a diesel engine into a 1998 406 coupe... can anyone recommend which diesel engine will fit best .... or does anyone have any experience of this..? any help would be appreciated?

Can't really help but bear in mind the fuel tank, lines etc. are different as far as I am aware. Surely a HDI engine would fit, are you going to keep the original gearbox or fit a new engine gearbox complete, then I suppose you may be into driveshafts etc? I'd be intersted to hear how you get on. Good luck.

the diesel engine will still need some kind of management, so swaping all these bits over it might be cheaper to just buy a 406 coupe with an HDI already in it!!
