Hi. I have a fault on a 2004 Peugeot 206. The ABS light comes on randomly. It can happen when stopped or driving. I did a scan and the fault is description is
ABS or ESP ECU
Intermittent fault. ABS/ASR (traction control) recirculation pump. Pump locked, CO, CC- or CC+
Would I be right in thinking the fix is to replace the ABS unit?

Re: ABS Fault
I'd personally disconnect the battery for 10mins, but that's my opinion

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

Re: ABS Fault
Is that to clear the code? I tried clearing it and it came right back. I also tried actuating the pump thinking it might be stuck but it seem to work everytime I actuate it.

Re: ABS Fault
I would disconnect the battery following the BSI procedure to clear the codes but does need 10 to 15mins which is actually longer than you think. If after reconnection it doesn't disappear then you have have something that needs to be looked into.

Re: ABS Fault
I gave my wife a driving lesson in the C8, she hit the brakes that hard at 10mph the ABS warning light came on. Just a yellow light, so battery off then on, all sorted.

Re: ABS Fault
The abs light was intermittently coming on for a few months. After a few months the light stayed on all the time. I gave the abs pump a few taps with a piece of wood and the abs light has gone out. I think the brushes in the abs motor were sticking.

Re: ABS Fault
The light came on again and the solution in the end was to replace the abs module and pump
