Best version of diagbox for 2014 C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 Hdi

Car is early 2014 Mk2 Grand Picasso 1.6 Hdi auto (non adblue) I have installed the 'usual' early v7 diagbox and updates to v 7.83 It has been sugested to me that for this vehicle a slightly earlier version of diagbox would be better and that I should re- install without the last few updates. Any advice? I havent tried it yet and my experience with diagbox is not great. I have 2 versions of the 'tool' one is a full chip non original and the other a cheap version with less chips.

Marc will undoubtedly say V9 something or other but for our 2015 1.6 Blue HDi 120 Peugeot 308 Active SW I find that V7.58 is good enough for almost everything. The advantage of staying with 7.58 is that none (almost none?) of the telecoding is removed and shunted off to online access. The disadvantages are few. The software doesn't recognise the Engine ECU and I have to choose from a list (not a great imposition) and I wasn't able to code in a replacement key. It has regularly cleared the error codes that accrue and I was able to code in a replacement fuel injector a couple of years ago.

Before you do reinstall I would be curious to know whether V7.83 auto recognises the engine ECU. Having said all the above if 7.83 has served you well so far then I would be tempted to stay with it.

Oh, and you should be using the full chip interface.

I generally only suggest V9.** for vehicles on the cusp of the changeover from 2015 on, but it really depends on the vehicle and the engine management system fitted, for the simple reason that if there's a later ECU on the vehicle, then the older software on Diagbox may not have the specific files to talk to the ECUs. For a 2014 vehicle without SCR, you should be fine with DB V7.58, but you can go to about 7.62. Then I would leave it there if is suits your needs.
