Doe anyone know where I can find out the recommended or maximum size of USB drive for my C5X, I have looked through the user manual and yes its says I can store Music in various formats, but nothing about the recommended drive size!
I can get a Type-C, USB drive in either 16, 32 or 64 GB what would be best? I'm thinking 16 or 32, but I am not sure the car will accept it.
Thanks In advance
Stu

Re: MAX USB Drive Size - C5X
Hi Stu, well I use a Samsung 64gb USB on my Wave 2 system and that works perfectly, so there shouldn't be any issues there. Plus that's on the spare USB port I made using the secondary port on the back of the head unit, so I have CarPlay on one USB and the 64 Gb drive on the other port in the glovebox - both work without issue both at the same time.

Re: MAX USB Drive Size - C5X (& Not Recognised Error)
Note for others
So, I bought a 64Gb drive, transferred about 35GB of music over (5 hours+), plugged it into my car and got the error message "USB device not recognised" -
I thought that buying a drive that was windows compatible I would not have had any problems.........
However, the drive had arrived in exFat file system and NOT the Fat32 I had expected. (exFat file system suits Windows and Mac OS X operating systems, and allows larger files of 4GB+)
And......The basic drive formatting utility in windows explorer would not allow me to change from exFat to Fat32 as the only options were either exFat or NTFS!
So, using a piece of freeware (AOMEI Partition Assistant ) I found I changed the file system from exFat to Fat32 all was okay.

Re: MAX USB Drive Size - C5X
Yes - all in the manual that Stu Only FAT32 currently supported.
There are plenty of utilities that will do this and even Windows will allow you to do it if you know how using the command prompt.
