When I replaced the spheres last year pre-MoT I made a mistake and forgot to loosen the rears prior to depressurising the car, hence when I first romped on the tool I twisted the O/S ram in it's mount. I realised my error and put pressure back to loosen them 1/4 turn & thought I'd got away with the blunder until recently when we noticed she's bleeding slightly from that corner.
On inspection, I'd evidently stressed the ram boot & over time it's split through on one of the return pipe stubs causing the leak. What I'm wondering though, is if the boot is the same as the C5 one part #5272 64 ?
I can find these online pretty easily and cheap, but nothing annotated as being for the Xantia. I seem to recall reading that they were the same part between CX/BX/XM/Xantia & C5 but just looking to refresh my memory, are they the same part & if not, where would I be more likely to find one (other than acquiring another Xantia for parts, a thought which has crossed my mind but wouldn't please the missus as much as just buying the part I need!)
