Hi guys,
Looking for suggestions as to cause of my gearbox noise 1.6hdi please.
Driving along the motorway when I got a loud rattling noise, I managed to pull off the motorway and got recovered back home.
The noise only happens when I let the clutch out and goes away when dipped. I can select gears and there is "Drive" albeit very noisy.
Recovery driver suggested DMF which my pic doesn't have
Old high mileage car, is it worth getting fixed if, indeed I find out what is wrong?
Thanks
Tam

Re: Xsara Picasso Gearbox Noise
That sounds like a knackered clutch release bearing to me Tam, once they go they rattle when not compressed, ie when the clutch is released. Others will confirm or deny I'm sure !
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Release bearing or input shaft bearing collapsed probably. Either way it's 'box out time!
