2009 Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 VTR+ Air Conditioning Fan will not turn off
Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me.
My Air Conditioning Fan is stuck on full blast, no matter what we try and do nothing changes and will not turn off.
My husband cleared the scuttle drain a couple of weeks ago (we read this might be the issue) it was blocked solid. We thought it might just need to dry out or something, however two weeks later the air conditioning is still on full blast.
Has anyone else had this problem, if so what did you do?
Many thanks

Presume you mean the fan only runs at full speed? Can you control the temperature?
Might be the fan controller.

If the fan is on full blast or nothing, then it's likely the Blower Motor Control Module has failed and needs replacing. Very common.

The fan is on full blast, I cannot turn it down at all. Only when the engine is off it stopsGiveMeABreak wrote: 27 May 2024, 23:04 If the fan is on full blast or nothing, then it's likely the Blower Motor Control Module has failed and needs replacing. Very common.

Yes, that sounds like the BMCM then. This module is essentially one or more resistors that control the fan motor, usually spinning it up slowly at start to the desired speed. When the resistor fails, it's usually an all or nothing situation as there is no resistance preventing the fan going at full speed all the time.

Re: 2009 Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 VTR+ Air Conditioning Fan will not turn off
Update: I ordered a ZEALfix Heater Blower Motor Fan Resistor 6441.CE 77366112 A43001400 from Amazon for £28.90, my husband fitted it yesterday and it is back to normal now. We think that the blocked scuttle drain has caused water damage to the old part over a period of time as there was corrosion on the old part. Thank you for your help!

Ok, just be aware that some of the lesser-known brands may not last as long, as they've been known to fail quite quickly. Haven't heard of this particular one though.

Ok, so be aware that this an Amazon Marketplace seller, so you won't have the same warranty as if it was sold by Amazon. After 30 days it will be hit or miss.
Good brands are Febi Bilstein, BEHR, Valeo etc.
