I bought a Citroën car and while driving, the speed ranged between 140 and 170 kilometers per hour. After a short stop and returning to the car, I pressed the "ECO" button, thinking it was for air conditioning, but the engine revolutions did not exceed three. After researching, I discovered it's a function related to the economic mode. i don't know how to disable it,I removed the thermometer sensor for a while, but the problem persisted, so I decided to put it back. Also, my father noticed an oil leak from the turbo, but I'm not sure. I need advice on how to solve these problems and any other tips that can be provided (i am new to cars world it's my first car).

Hi. no, nothing to do with the engine, it is entirely for the Air conditioning system. It basically switches off the A/C compressor to save fuel by reducing engine load more frequently rather than have it running all the time. So it can maintain a reasonable comfort level without getting too cold if I remember correctly.

There is a Haynes workshop manual that will help you look after your car https://haynes.com/en-gb/citroen/c5/200 ... esel-31229 Get the workshop (red) manual and not the Autofix one.
Switching the air con on and off should not change the engine rpm so I do not know what you mean by 'the engine revolutions did not exceed three'
You must have higher speed limits than in the UK, our max speed on motorways and some dual carriageways is 70mph (112 km/h)

The compressor when switched on will temporarily reduce the engine RPM slightly, as it takes a lot of inertia to start the compressor, but this will be compensated for by the engine management system that will shortly return the RPM to normal.

Thank you, Marc, for replying. These are updates on what I found recently. They told me it's a turbo problem, and I can't turn off the AC, I don't know why the AC compressor is not running. I am still confused; I don't know what to check first. The important question is, is it bad to drive the car since I have oil leaking onto the radiator.

The A/C has nothing to do with the turbo. If you want to turn the A/C off, then toggle the A/C button.
If you have a turbo leak then that is a completely separate issue that needs addressing.
