Hi, my Pluriel has been standing for about 5 months. Intermittently I have started it up and moved it round to stop the brakes seizing etc. when I came to move it last week it was completely dead. I’ve changed the battery, checked all the fuses .power gets as far as the battery terminal and no further. The keys don’t open the doors the dash is completely blank, no lights etc Completely DEAD. I’ve located and removed the BSI unit but don’t know how to get it checked to make sure that is the issue any suggestions ?
Please don’t suggest I scrap it . It is vgc with only 33k from new…a collectible for the future.

Then that would be your problem.
Open the engine bay fuse box cover and check for power at the stud on the BSM.
Check for electrical continuity from the battery negative to the chassis and engine exposed metal parts.
This looks like a fundamental power problem, I wouldn't bother checking the BSI just yet.
Sounds like corroded battery terminals. But that's only based on what you have said so far.

Update. Checked the battery terminals but they seem fine. The feed to the starter motor is live so I still think it might be the BSI.

Re: Dead c3 pluriel
How have you come to the conclusion the BSI is faulty?
Have you checked all the fuses including the hidden maxi fuses underneath the fusebox under the bonnet?
Do the hazzard lights come on if you press the button on the dash? make sure you check outside as if the car had gone into eco mode there may not be any telltales inside. Can you switch the headlamps on?
Have you checked the main earths as Oz suggested??

Also check for possible damage to wiring as a rodent of some kind may have been chewing at them.

Hi, yes I’ve checked the headlight’s don’t work, the hazard warning lights don’t work, checked all the fuses and they are fine, can’t see any signs of wiring damage ,so what else is there left to try?

Did you check the large maxi fuses under the bonnet? You have to lift the main under bonnet fusebox up out of its box to access them. Is there battery voltage at the outlet sides of the fuses?
Did you check the main earths? Use a jump lead & connect one end to the battery negative terminal & the other end to a good clean bare metal part of the chassis, the bonnet catch is usually a good bet.
If there is absolutely no sign of life in the car i would say it is much more likley to be a main power supply or earth issue rather than the BSI.
With it being a Pluriel have you checked for water ingress anywhere in the electrics?

Re: Dead c3 pluriel
Go to pin 4 of the 10 pin white connector on the BSI. There should be power there with the ignition key 'on' (no power with the ignition off). If there is power there, then the problem MAY be in the BSI (see edit below).
Otherwise; there should be permanent power at pins 1 and 2 of the big 2 pin grey connector of the BSI. If there is no power here then you need to go back to the maxi fuses or the battery/wiring.
Otherwise; power goes through the BSI via F11 and out pin 5 of the 10 pin black connector to the ignition switch. No power at pin 5, check fuse F11 or problem inside BSI.
Otherwise; with the ignition in the 'on' position, power comes from the switch back to pin 4 of the 10 pin white connector of the BSI. Warning, there are two white connectors, a 10 pin and a 40 pin! No power at pin 4 with ignition 'on', problem with ignition switch or wiring.
So if you get power at pin 4 of the 10 pin white connector with the ignition switch on, then the problem MAY be with the BSI (see edit below).
'Back probe' all the above connections. That is; probe in through the back of the connectors onto the metal contacts, with the connector still in position.
OH! And check for continuity to earth at pin 6 of the 16 pin green connector!
Edit : the Mk2 or "facelift" or ALL-CAN C3s have a bizarre (IMHO) arrangement where the BSI gets its power from a secondary supply from the BSM. So the BSI 'boots up' and "asks" the BSM for power! So the above may only be a start!!
