Re: Wheels
Yes it is possible with some appropriate calculations. My car was fitted with 17" inch alloys with 205 x 45 x 17 tyres. I replaced the wheels with 16" alloys fitted with 205 x 55 x 16 tyres. Basically I reduced the wheel diameter by 2.54 cm and increased the tyre diameter by 2cm thereby keeping the rolling characteristics sufficiently within calibration to satisfy the ABS sensors. The speedometer actually reads 2 mph fast at 70mph but that is the ok side of keeping legal so it works well for me. The reason was the same as your wish to reduce the harshness of the ride and the changeover achieved that, so I am very happy with it now! There is a website where you can check the calculations which is at https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/
Good luck

Good luck

Re: Wheels
Also having a 2017 C3 Pic with those good looking wheels but wholly inappropriate low profile tyres, I feel your pain. Literally sometimeshobbo wrote: 15 May 2024, 16:41 I own a late 2017 C3 Picasso. Is it possible to replace the low profile wheels and tyres with normal ones, as when travelling you can virtually feel a matchstick when you go over it. If so what does it entail re the speedo etc Thanks

I'm watching with interest and contemplating the same... One plan that should/might work will be to source a set of wheels from an early Series 1 C3 Pic which has higher profile tyres.

Re: Wheels
Thanks for the answers. Have been looking at some C4 wheels they have the same pcd as the low profile ones and are fitted with205/55x16 tyres. Would these fit okay.

Re: Wheels
It looks like they will, can you confirm the tyre size on your current wheels and I'll know for sure?

Re: Wheels
Make sure that the smaller rims will clear the brake calipers, borrow a wheel to check if possible.

Re: Wheels
Picking up Mike's point there remember the 16" wheels will be 0.5" closer to any fixed part so ensure you have 0.5" clearance around the entire circumference.

Re: Wheels
Then subject to that 0.5" clearance Mike pointed out they will be fine I should think. As Mike says if you can do a test fit so much the better
