DS7 - Mod/Hack Infotainment System

Unread post by freenuggets »

Hello,

I just bought my first car, a DS7 Opera, I'm a dev and I would like to modify and mess around with the infotainment system and fix a few bugs. Are there any resources available for this? And is there a way to get my hands on the files for the latest firmware version. Just wondering if there are already research/resources instead of starting everything from scratch myself.

Thank you.

No, sorry we don't provide that sort of assistance as the units are very much integrated into vehicle's systems and we don't provide this sort of help. Any intervention you make will void your warranty in any case, so a bit silly to start butchering a 2024 vehicle. Just wait like everyone else for firmware updates to be released that will fix bugs as they are detected.

Hi

Do you think there is a chance the older DS's will at some stage receive a firmware update to the new Iris system?

Just curious really.

No, firmware updates are for specific hardware only. Firmware can only fix bugs and fixes / improvements on hardware-specific versions, it cannot convert the unit into something it is not.

But if you are asking if your current unit will get a firmware update - that depends on if there are any issues reported which requires a fix. If not and after so many years, they tend to leave them as they are once all the bugs are eliminated.

I see. Thanks for the response. I also want to add some features and change some of the default behavior so I can't just wait until they push firmware updates. I'm fine with voiding my warranty so I will just look into it deeper once I find some time.

Thanks.

No problem, just be aware that any changes you may make can affect the operational safety / equipment of the vehicle.
