Service Indicator Light

Unread post by LEEDS »

Good morning.
I have a C3 Citroen Picasso 2011 1.6VTR.
I recently got my car serviced and the service indicator was reset. However a the word SERVICE has now appeared on the left of the digital display unit. And I cannot get it off.
Any help please

You need to have car read for error codes. You'll need a high end code reader or, preferably, a Diagbox for this. A £25 Aldi hand held won't cut the mustard.

Have you asked the garage that did the service about it?

The handbook might list a few things that will bring up the service light such as low battery voltage, worn brake pads, so have a look in it before booking it in for a diagnostic.

Yes I spoke to the garage who did the service. They did the normal. ie. Change oil and fuel filter. Changed the oil and checked brakes etc etc. So I'm stumped. Should I be worried ?

As said the service light without an additional warning light can mean different things, but most likely emissions related. But as mentioned you would need a professional level diagnostic tool to read anything more than the basic codes.

On one of my Citroens it would come on if the windscreen washer fluid was low.
