ESP90 (authomatic breaking): Absence of signal

Unread post by PepeAravaca »

I have a Citroen Spacetourer and whenever I run a global test with a Diagbox (9.150) I get the fault:
ESP90 (CAN bus ground adhesion or high speed 2):
Fault: Absence of signal
Status: Fugitive
Authomatic breaking in case of collision risk: Inhibited

I can clear the fault, but as soon as I run the test again, it pops up again. Everything else (ABS, power steering, ...) seems OK in Digabox and driving.

Any hint, please?

Depends what system you have for this function, but it is likely the ESP system is not happy about one of the sensor inputs and as a result has disabled any systems that rely on that sensor - in this case the automatic braking. I can't say if this is related to Active Safety Brake, or ARTIV distance control (if you have front camera and / or ARTIV RADAR) in the bonnet for active distance maintaining.

In either case it will likely need a dealer intervention as these things need specific training and equipment to diagnose and calibrate.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

Thanks. I will dig a bit more before having it serviced. If I find something, I will post it here.
