Has anyone bought the sphere removal tool from GSF ? Will it do the job or is it liable to break ?

The tool sold by Pliedies is also very good, you can hire one from them to try and if you like it you can keep it because the deposit covers the cost. A good description of the tool is that it is built like a "brick outside toilet" and various lengths of pipe can be used on the long handle for added leverage without it bending.

Pleiades web site doesn't give any prices. I'll probably only need the tool once as the car, an XM, is already 10 years old, but it is still cheaper than getting a garage to do it. The spheres on the car were reconditioned ones fitted by Westroen 5 years ago and they have lasted well. But it's too far to drive from Scotland. I suppose the tool would come in handy if I bought another Citroen.
