Help! C5 x7 indicator not working

Unread post by Dunkah »

Hi all, was just swapping some bulbs on the rear of my c5 x7 to LED ones and now my right hand indicator is not working.
Tested it with a test lamp and have no signal, swapped the bulb for the opposite one which is definitely good, nothing.
Read another post in the forum and someone suggested that c5’s can get confused if you swap bulbs while they’re on (which I may have done) do I need to fix it with lexia?
I do have a Lexia.
Any help or advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Don't put LEDs in! The car's electrical system is designed for Halogen bulbs which take more current. LEDs are not designed given the lower current and this can cause issues with the other lighting.

Dammit!!!
On reflection, I really should have known that already, the amount of times I’ve messed about with indicators on classics and customs is unreal. Many times I’ve changed the flash rate on cars by adding or subtracting wattage in the flash system……
I’ve ordered a set of standard bulbs and go back to that.
When I was actually messing with this I did go back to a standard bulb and it still wasn’t working, I really doubt it’ll spring back into life now.
Do I need to reset something with lexia? BSI reset maybe.
Thanks Marc

If it still doesn't work after putting the correct bulbs in, do a BSI reset to clear any errors held in the network.

No, don't touch diagbox. It's a simple enough procedure, but timing is essential as per the procedure, to allow the data networks and the ECUs to properly power down and restart again, along with the BSI. To do this the doors must be shut and time allowed for the RCD network which monitors the doors amongst other things to sleep. If you open a door before allowing the specified time before disconnecting the battery, you'll need to wait again, as you'll have activated the network again.

I had this ones when i drive the car without the rear lamp unit.
I only removed the battery connection for 30 minutes and everything works fine.
