heater blower control

heater blower control

I am having a problem with my heater blower in that when I first got the car a few weeks ago it worked ok, and now it doesn't work at all. I have checked the fan and the heater blower resistor.According to the haynes manual to remove the heater control switch I have to remove the facia, is this really neccessary or is there another way in?
