Granddaughter's car. 70k miles. Timing belt expertly replace by the book 3K miles ago.
HMT 1.2 engine.
Sudden big bad engine rattle. OBD2 diags empty. AA guy said he thought it was a piston "as that engine suffers from piston failures".
Problem is, apart from the very noisy death rattle, it still accelerates/goes like a rocket.
Could it possibly be a cam follower sticking ??
Anyone else come across this or any serious advice ?
