ZX 2.0i Oil Leak

Post by samlsc »

I've got a 97 ZX 2.0i clocking 88K km. The oil leak is very prominent around the oil pressure gauge and the dipstick base area. My mechanic has changed the oil pressure gauge and even the flywheel seal( it was leaking from there also). But still, it's wet around that area. My rocker cover gasket was just changed because it was leaking there as well. Oil pressure is normal... Where could it be coming from?

Have you tried cleaning it thoroughly and watching it for the first sign of oil? Sometimes the only way.

Yup, tried that. The area around the oil pressure gauge amd the dipstick base will be wet. Funnily even the top of the oil pressure gauge is wet. So the oil must be sprayed or coming from the top. But the hoses are clean. And it gets dryer to the top.
At first I suspected it was the oil pressure gauge. But after changing 2, it doesn't seem like it.
I do get a little oil leaking from the joint at the throttle body housing connecting the air-intake. But it's minimal.
Just got my ZX for 2 months
