Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 2014 MK2 - Water ingress into driver's foot well when it rains.

Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 2014 MK2.

Hi, do you have any diagrams of the water drainage system, especially in relations to the cabin heater system and Aircon system.

Each morning from last weekend the drivers footwell is collecting copious amounts of water and sometimes it pours onto my accelerator foot when I am progressing up a steep hill, plus there is also a swooshing noise each time I proceed though a sharp left hand bend.

The main fan was behaving sluggishly but has now failed completely and demisting is now impossible due to the constant deluge of water into interior. Do you also have details of the OEM number of the fan and resistor? I have tried searching on line, but cannot find one to fit a RHD vehicle.

Many Thanks.

You might have leaves blocking any drain holes on the engine side of the bulkhead.

Yes suspect blocked drainage. Noticed moss growing in the channels by both roof bars, therefore suspect it is also growing within the drainage lines, but don't understand how the roof and bonnet drainage lines flow into the ventilation and heater circuit to damage the heater motor. I assumed the Aircon and heater would have their own seperate drains.

On the mk 1 there are drain tubes from the scuttle behind the front wheel arch liners that block up, I expect mk 2 is the same. The fan might come back to life if you dry it out.

Part no for the blower on yours is 98 497 843 80

Note I've tweaked your Vin so it is hidden.

Did you manage to get this sorted? Was it the drainage? I’m trying to locate the blocked drains on my 2014 C4 Picasso…

Further to my last post, the scuttle drains were not blocked…!

When you checked the scuttle drains did you also unblock the rubber tubes that go from them to the back of the front wheel arch liners ? This is copied from the C4 Owners forum
Hi
I managed to clear both sides last night without removing anything. This problem had got me dreading to go the
car after it rained. I was fed up with finding an inch or so of water in the driver's footwell and ending up with a
pile of wet towels. I could hear the water sloshing around and affecting the fan and awaited wet feet whenever I
swung round a sharp bend!
Charles, I have no vehicle maintenance knowledge so please excuse my description - if you turn the wheel hard
over it makes it a bit easier. I didn't remove the wheel or wheel arch (thought I'd end up in a right mess if I tried
that) or even jack up the car. Look straight past the wheel and you'll see a gap in the arch cover just behind
what I presume would be a shock absorber??
I managed to get my hand through the gap and felt with my right hand (for the offside) to the left and located
the rubber tube (run your hand just above the wheel arch cover and you should find it - it's a soft flexible
concertina'd rectangular tube with a flap on the end).
This approx 5" section came away on the offside (**##!) but it did allow me to see it properly - it was
completely filled with rotted leaves etc. I cleaned this out and used a length of heavy duty electric flex from an
old extension cable to hopefully clear anything else beyond.
I then went to the nearside, more difficult for me to access being right handed but located the pipe and used the
flex to unblock and was rewarded with a sudden gush of water. I threw several buckets of water on the bottom
of the windscreen and it flowed out freely behind the wheel arches on both sides.
I then went back to the offside and managed to refit the rubber outlet hose. Success!
It's very fiddly purely because there is limited access this way and you're working blind. I found you could
bend/pull this edge of the wheel arch cover down a bit alongside the shocks which helped a bit. (along with slim
wrists - now rather bruised).
Anyway after about an hour and some choice words I felt very pleased with myself! It's throwing it down outside
right now

Thanks just followed your advice and got a gush of water on both sided when I removed this rubber part. Totally blocked up. Can't for the life of me reattach it though lol

Thanks for all the info here on this. I had the same problem.

I could hear the water sloshing back & forth as I went round corners and my partner had her toes splashed on one occasion.

I couldn't reach the drain ends with the wheel liners in place (I think you need to be Mr Tickle to do that). However, just removing the 3 torque screws was enough to move the liners clear (without needing to remove wheels or anything else) and this made access to the drains straightforward.

There was lots of gunk - but all good now.
