GTi 180 Aircon Issue
Hi, the aircon in my 2004 206 GTi 180 has an intermittent fault. When it first occurred, the fan failed to run, but after a few days it came good. This behaviour kept repeating, but with increasingly longer periods when it wouldn't run, until it eventually it stopped working altogether. I took it to an auto electrician who tested it and said the fan had failed. He wanted a horrendous price for providing and fitting a new fan, so I shipped one from the UK and fitted it myself. The new fan ran for a few months, but then failed again. That was a few months ago, but recently the fan ran again for a day. So I guess it's not the fan. Has anyone else had this issue and is there a solution?

Re: GTi 180 Aircon Issue
Have you actually checked the A/C system? If the refrigerant is low then the engine ECU will cut off the A/C which in turn will stop the radiator fan, which always runs when the A/C is on.
The A/C system will lose refrigerant over time and yours being a 2004 vehicle may also have other issues that may cause the A/C to work intermittently and therefore the fan too.

Thanks, makes sense. I'll get it checked.GiveMeABreak wrote: 01 Mar 2024, 11:36 Have you actually checked the A/C system? If the refrigerant is low then the engine ECU will cut off the A/C which in turn will stop the radiator fan, which always runs when the A/C is on.
