severe damge...part needed.

Unread post by moomoo »

Hello
I managed to get the engine out of the van....this engine had less that 30k on it...1.9td. Its in a Ducato motorhome, I can now see the full extent of the damage.
The hole next to the starter motor is where the oil filter housing used to be.
It was lent to someone to help them out and this is how it came back!...there is a hole in each side of the block and you can see daylight through it!
You can see the crankshaft and the piston through the block ....the hole is that big...heavens knows whats caused such catastrophic damage.
I now need a driveshaft mount for the rebuild as it totally smashed......Ive looked on ebay and tried my local scrappers but no joy...coastal motorhomes used to sell the part but no longer stock it. (part number 1475964080)
I was hoping that someone might know somebody who knws someone else that knows where i might get hold of the part.
I have another block that I'm transfering useable parts to.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Moo

Ouch! There was a batch of 1.9 TD engines in the late 90s that suffered from con rod failure - this would appear to be one of them, it's just taken a while to go bang due to the low mileage!

Difficult to know exactly, but this appears to be PSA part no 4007 E2, and includes the mounting for the PAS pump - and is Relay / Dispatch only. So looks like either need to find someone breaking one, or you will have to get something fabricated....

Welding the original back together should be feasible, and easier than fabrication from scratch.

Have you tried Dean Hunter, http://www.peugeotparts.co.uk/ He is near Knottingley so not far for you to go.
What about the engine? Have you got a replacement, if not he may be able to help you.
