I am about to venture on a timing belt change on my car’s DW12C motor. I am now familiar with the process except for the locking of the crankshaft. I am advised that the pinning hole of 6mm in diameter lurks somewhere behind the starter motor. Can someone with a detailed diagram point me in the right direction.

I'll need the VIN for this vehicle Don, as the 2.2 engines are different.

Sorry, vin not handy. There is only one DW12 C motor.
Looks like the peg hole is behind the starter motor just like the DW10F and DW10CTED4.

I wanted to make sure it wasn't the 2.2 DW12BTED4 FAP, being as it's entirely different.
And as it happens you're in luck as I've already written up the procedure for the DW12C engine here in the resources section:
Procedure: Timing Belt replacement for C5 X7 2.2 with DW12C Engine.

Re: Citroen C5 2.2 HDI
Wow Marc, that is way better than the videos I have been watching with a side benefit of being able to print it out and take it with me under the car. It is not so different from the belt replacement procedure that I used on my 2007 C5 restyle which had one big difference in that it had the second camshaft and obviously the longer belt. The other bonus is that I kept one of the odd locking tools which I thought I might use one day. That day has arrived.
BTW, on a non automotive note, our big UCI sanctioned World Cycling Tour event called the Tour Down Under was recently won by Steve Wright from West Wales. He doesn’t live next door by any chance. Your FCF Jim would know this already of course.
And now to read in detail this fantastic encyclopaedic process that you sent me….
