I've disabled the stop start on my Partner

As it just annoyed me.

When it comes to replacing the battery, is there any reason why I can't now use a wet battery of the same size and capacity, instead of the old AGM that is fitted?

Is there any difference in the charging circuit for AGM, that would preclude replacing it with wet?

No you cant, its not just about the stop start system. Your car has a 'smart' charging system too & the upgraded battery is to suit that too.
If you fit a regular flooded battery you will find that you get maybe 6 months out of the battery before it fails.
Out of curiosity how did you disable it? re map?

Disabling it was simply via one of the reset options on my new scan tool.
The Topdon Artidiag800BT.
It came with 28 resets, one of which was Stop/Start, so I thought I would give it a try and it worked.
The only thing it lacks (so far) is bidirectional control.

Not quite sure how a 'reset' affects Stop Start as it doesn't have an individual component to reset, but involves multiple components and parameters to work.....

I assume that resets is their word for service functions.
Either way, disabling stop start on the Topdon worked and the car hasn't shown any other issues.
