C5 steering rack issues - non hydractive cars?

Question is as the thread title really: do the C5 steering rack issues that seem to crop up frequently on here only affect hydractive versions, or do the conventionally sprung cars suffer too?

They affect all of the C5 X7 models regardless of suspension.
