Xantia: auto choke

Unread post by johnacky »

Does anybody know what is involved in the replacement for a new choke. When I paid for my car, the guy mentioned that in the winter you had to rev it a few times, because the choke doesnt work. Is this a costly, repair. Also does this mean I am wasting petrol.

John,
Xantia's don't have a 'choke' as such - just a cold start injector to richen the mixture. This is fired by the ECU depending on the signal from the coolant temperature sensor. It's most likely that the temp sensor has gone belly up.
