C5 X7 Mechanical Handbrake Cable Replacement

Hi all.....can anyone take me through the step-by-step procedure to replace the driver's side handbrake cable on my C5? Details are: C5 X7 2.0 HDi 163, 2010 model, mechanical handbrake.
I have all the basic tools and am happy getting under the car on axle stands, but don't have a lift, so want to know whether to attempt it myself or rather bite the bullet and pay someone to do it - I've heard horror stories and don't want to end up with a broken car again....TIA

Hi Justin. Did you replace the cable? I am in same situation but uncertain how much work and if I must expect some badass dismantling to get access... Best regards, Roger
