Hi I need to patch up the sills on the picasso would 1.5mm sheet be ok.

I would think it should be ok and may be thicker than the existing steel, it will also be thicker than the rust you are replacing. You can see what thickness of steel has been used if you look at the edges of the sill, along the top would need the door seal lifting.
