Jumper 2.5d injection pump question

Unread post by xsaras4ever »

Hello to all, it's been a while since we posted.

We now have a 1999 Citroën Jumper, 2.5d , no turbo.

It starts really well from cold, in fact too well, because it hardly turns over and suddenly BURSTS into life.

From hot, it will barely start, it turns over very badly and soon kills the battery.

We thought it was a cracked head, but it doesn't use water, doesn't boil and doesn't hiss and gurgle when you stop it.

We are beginning to think that it is pump timing and our thoughts are that from cold the cylinders are empty so advanced diesel can go in,,,but from warm the cylinders are full of gases so no room for early diesel. Any thoughts???

Also should mention that it has killed 2 stop solenoids recently.

Finally, this pump is not bolted to the block with 3 bolts such an with the XUD9, so how do you play with timing ?

Thanks in advance
