I've owned my C5 X7 since 2014.
When I bought it the mileage was 170K miles.
Currently it's just shy of 230K.
Goes great. Engine is a peach.
Think it spent it's early life as a sales reps car going up and down the motorways.
The only problems I've had with it was EGR related and my current situation with the leaking steering rack.
think it could do with some new glow plugs, but that's a job for another day!
Other than that it's just been consumables.
I've got no reason to replace this car. The mileage doesn't bother me. The car seems to improve with age!
I'm actually tempted to get another X7 to add to the fleet. I fancy one with proper Citroen suspension!
What's the highest miles that's been seen on one of these HDi X7's?
Cheers
Bailey.

Re: C5 X7 top high mileage/ longevity etc
Before I bought mine I looked at loads including a 2.0 HDi 160 auto Exclusive Tourer with 370k on the clock at about 5 years old.
I only went to look at it to see how they handled the mileage but after seeing it I did briefly consider it.
The one I eventually bought was on about 60k and I wouldn't say it drove massively differently.

What sort of money were they asking? Was it cosmetically ok?Lenny wrote: 05 Feb 2024, 20:52 Before I bought mine I looked at loads including a 2.0 HDi 160 auto Exclusive Tourer with 370k on the clock at about 5 years old.

It was the best part of eight years ago but I think it was £3595 when similar spec but 50k miles would have been about double that at a dealership. What sort of money were they asking? Was it cosmetically ok?
I think I paid £5300 for mine at that time and it was the same model & year with about 60k in a private sale.
Cosmetically it was lovely as I recall. Probably better than the one I bought! (which needed both bumpers painting and an afternoon with a dent doctor)
The driver's seat had a bit of wear but not bad. It hid the miles very well.
