What is "canister filter"? Couldn't find online

Unread post by Lecit »

Hello,

I have a Citroen C1 2018 and I searched online for "canister filter" but couldn't find any picture or video related to it.

What is it? All I found was the engine air filter and the cabinet air filter

Thanks!

At a guess, I think it will be the carbon canister... A device to limit pollution by trapping/absorbing petrol vapours and releasing them into the engine's inlet tract at opportune times.

thanks, that could very well be it! Do you know what I should search for other than "canister filter" to see how it looks maybe? because searching "canister filter" didn't find anything so I wonder if it has other names I can look for

Oil filters where the paper element is not attached to a metal can are sometimes called cannister filters. The ones with a metal can are called cartridge filters.
